1. Refund & Cancellation Policy
- Non-refundable fees: application, SEVIS processing, mailing, textbooks, administrative fees.
- Tuition is non-refundable once classes have begun, regardless of withdrawal, transfer, SEVIS termination, or dismissal for misconduct.
- Students who fail to maintain F-1 status (e.g., attendance below 80%), violate SEVP, or violate AFI’s Code of Conduct forfeit all prepaid tuition, including tuition for current/future sessions.
- If AFI cancels a program before instruction begins, prepaid tuition (excluding non-refundable fees) will be refunded.
- Students who cancel before the first scheduled day of class may request tuition refund only (fees are not refunded).
- AFI applies this policy consistently and equally.
2. Code of Conduct
AFI protects a safe learning environment. Sanctionable conduct includes: disruption, refusal to follow instructor directions, harassment or abusive language, dishonesty/falsification, misuse of property, impairment on campus, or any violation of SEVP/F-1 rules. Investigations follow policy; outcomes can include warnings, probation, suspension, or dismissal. Teacher assignments are determined by AFI.
3. School Rules & SEVP Compliance
- Full-time: minimum 18 instructional hours/week.
- Attendance: minimum 80%. Tardies/early departures are recorded; falling below 80% may result in SEVIS termination.
- Academic progress: satisfactory progress required.
- Reporting: address/contact/sponsor changes must be reported within 10 days.
- Transfers/program changes: coordinate with DSO/PDSO; out-of-status students may be released only as terminated under SEVP rules.
- Employment: limited; authorization required.
4. Enrollment, Payments & Accounts
- Tuition/fees are published; deadlines apply.
- Prepaid tuition for future sessions is non-refundable after classes begin.
- Past-due accounts may result in holds on registration, transcripts, or certificates.
5. Communications & Official Notices
- Email is the official channel; SMS may be used for reminders.
- Admissions/tuition/refunds: admissions@afint.com.
- SEVIS/immigration: fatima@afint.com (DSO Office).
- Students must keep their contact info current.
6. Complaint Resolution & Appeals
- Submit concerns/appeals in writing; AFI responds in writing.
- Interim measures may be used for classroom safety.
- Arbitration/venue terms in the Enrollment Agreement apply where relevant.
7. Authority & Updates
The Catalog and Enrollment Agreement control if there’s any discrepancy. AFI may update policies to comply with law, SEVP guidance, or accreditation standards. Updates are posted on this page and in the Catalog.
